The Sweetness of Song

Isn't song so... fulfilling? It's hrd to pick an accurate adjective. Right now, I'm listening to "Celtic Women" a group of Irish singers who have some of the most pure, and beautiful voices in the world. "Oh Danny Boy" is the song playing now, and the sound is just so reverent and soothing, i think i could fall asleep listening to it! I think Heavenly Father meant for music to be used in ways that will uplift us.

Today my dad played some of the church hymns sung by the Tabernacle Choir as we were getting ready for church, I hadn't really listened to them for a while and as i heard them today, i felt like I'd come home, as if listening was the best thing for me to be doing then. It was beautiful. Some of the hymns we listened to were: Brightly Beams the Father's Mercy and Master the Tempest is Raging, both such beautiful songs, and amongst my favorites for the peaceful messages they bring. Aaahh! Some music is just so, wondrous!

Its interesting how music influences the way you act. For instance, when i need a confidence boost, i like to play the song, Grace Kelly by Mica. It such a crazy, fun, up-beat song, that after i sing along and dance to it, i feel so pumped up and good inside! It tends to serve its purpose ;)

I guess one of the funny things about me is that i tend to sing more than i listen, and under the same principle of music's influence, i tend to sing songs according to how i want to feel, and sometimes according to how i feel presently. It's kinda cool to realize that music has so much power!
